Report

Report:BCC ended the year on a high, after a hard win against Bexley II. Lucky for BCC that Richie wasn't playing which meant the rest of them had to play up.

The night didn't start off as planned. Two days prier Matt 'The Drunk' Horder emailed me to say that he had a Xmas lunch and might not be up to scratch. On reply Captain Sam said he can get someone else in, but with a sharp reply 'don't worry mate, I've been training and I'll just have a couple'. Well Tuesday night came, 19.45 rolls in this mess of a person aka Matt Horder totally wasted. As you can imagine what the reply from Sam was, it was along the lines of Matt you knob.

Anyway first game on James & Mark. This match was always going to be a tough match, but James was in full motion from the start winning the first 2 games with some tight drops and length's. James needed to win the third as he can only carry that weight for so long before the body says enough is enough and that is exactly what happened. Mark dug in playing some better squash, but was feeling the pain from all the games at the weekend tournament, mate slow down your no spring chicken ;0) Good battle back from Mark 3/2

Tom and his opponent was on the other court, so didn’t get to see any of it, but by the sound of things Tom was just to strong 3/0.

Sam/Josh, These two have not played before, but Sam knew that Josh is playing well and has been getting some good results, so knew that he had to play some good squash. Josh seemed to start off well going 4-2 up, but then Sam started to wake up, playing some good winners to win 9/4. The 2nd game was totally different with Josh putting Sam under loads of pressure. It wasn’t the best game to mark, as there was probably about 30 lets where each player wasn’t cleaning the ball. Josh went 8/3 up and was looking good, but for once Sam used he’s brain and played each point at a time to slowly get back to 8/8. In the end Sam played two out right winners to win 10/8. After the battle of the 2nd, Josh didn’t seem to be as sharp in the third, with Sam controlling the third to win 9/5.

Brad/Drunk, Before I go on I must apologise to Brad for his opponent. If I knew he was turning up wasted I would of got someone else in to play. Luckily for me I didn’t see the embarrassment. But by the score line it was the case of enough said. And by the way The Drunk did get a point in the first game, but as he turned up so drunk I thought I would deduct a point, anyway like he ‘s going to know about it. By the way Matt, Brad said to me in the changing rooms that he was gutted he dropped a point. Oh dear Matt 1 point and only 7 serves from a 14 year old.

Lewis/ Christian, This was a must win for both players as it was 2/2 in matches. Lewis took the first which was a hard win. Christian retrieving everything Lewis through at him. Unfortunately I missed the next 3 games, but by the looks of things Christian went walkie's for the next two games, but worked hard to win the important 4th 10/9. So all down to the 5th game. Lewis started off better with a 4 point lead. But as usual Christian battled hard right till the end, but by the looks of things Lewis just had the extra in the tank to win it for the team 9/5.

Good night to finish the year on. Domino's for dinner and as usual loads of banter mainly about The Drunk who went straight home probably feeling very sorry for himself.

Have a good Crimbo from BCC…

Ps. Just in case you think I was telling porky's about Matt's score, go to the Kent website -
