Report: | Dulwich managed to shake off the cobwebs and the Christmas pudding with a nice 5-0 win over Bromley CC. Always a danger, BCC started brightly with King Lewy going out of the blocks much quicker than Tim, which needn’t need to be that fast. As usual Lewis was nimble around the court and danced his way to a 1-0 7-2 lead before the Dulwich captain started to react. Despite losing the second eventually losing the second, Lewis countered in the third to recover from 3-6 and lead 2-1. Finally, Tim was spurred into action and managed to up the pace enough to ease home in 5 far from comfortable games.
Meanwhile, Neil was putting Sam through his paces. Fresh from a warm weather stint in Singapore, Neil was fresh if a little rusty and managed to put Sam to the sword in 3 games. Prince William controlled the early rallies against Matt, but managed to lose them. However, the two minute rally early on seemed to take something out of Matt’s leg’s later on and Will got home also in 3.
Steve was back from a self-imposed sabbatical, but class is permanent (particularly when you have go-gadget arms) and he made short work of late replacement Danny. It wouldn’t be Priory Knight if Andy didn’t have a 5-setter, and Jamie always like to get his money worth so it was little surprise that it went the distance. The latter tried to get it all the way to the wire battling back fro 3-8 to 7-8 but Andy sealed the win and the white-wash in style.
Harry of Olley’s fame had saved the day at the Dinner & Dance and he once more delivered some fine fish fayre that was polished off by all and sundry. There was much talk of the great squash at Queen’s and if you missed it, you missed out!
