Report

Report:Right here we go again. Firstly it pains me to say I'm delighted to be playing again with me old mucker Numbnuts Lennox. This can only mean a return to constant *isstaking and ricicule by both parties, FANTASTIC!!

Well it couldn't have been scripted better, the 2 ex hillbillies back in the saddle so who could we possibly be playing first !

First up:
Grim Reaper v Stu
Didn't see any of this one I did see Reaper won the first game which has never happened before and probably never will again (apart from when he plays me every Saturday!) Stu then nicked the second before his legs fell off and the Reaper ran out the next 2 games comfortably.

Captain Carrot Top v Deano
Tight first game with both players covering a lot of court but quite a few unforced errors by both. CCT nicked it then cut out the errors and ran out a fairly straight forward 3/0 winner.

Debt Collector v Simon
Both players having played each other god knows how many times before knew what to expect. DC took the first in quick order before Si did his usual pinging low drives from all over the place to square things up. DC then hauled the reigns in and tightened things up which did the trick for the remaining 2 games.

Sweaty Sock v Nick.
Very good first 2 games with Nick picking up most of Sweatys' tricky shots taking the first and very nearly the 2nd before the legs started giving way. Sweaty the cleaned up in short order. I may be wrong but I think this is the first time Sweaty has beaten someone on fitness, blimey !!

Numbnuts v Ant
Well the prodigle son certainly made a statement with his first showing for his new team. Apparently he has fallen back in love with the game and it showed on this performance. It will be interesting to see if he has fallen back out of love with the game at the end of the campaign.

Well all over fairly quickly on court with the battle won by the ugly bunch, the war however was well and truly lost in the bar. £145 later we held up the white flag !!
That said, It was good to see the Biggin lads again and look forward to the return.

Away from the above match I was interested to see old man Steedens match report. Now I'm not sure if he looks at the reports from the pond life in div 2 but his winging about the scoring does make me smile. Grow a pair Old Man, Tues is Priory night, who cares what time you get in. if you started on time and you finished late it means you've had a great night of squash. The last time I was told to be home early was when I was 14 !! (lol)
Also interested to see the liberal sprinkling of div 1 players appearing again including our very own PL2 boys. Guess the debate about playing down will rumble on until the AGM. I for one think it is probably time to call it a day on this rule but intersted to see how much support a rule change gets. Got a feeling it will be quite strong from the smaller clubs who do not have this luxury.
One thing I can say, PL3 have a squad and we will stick to it weak or strong depending on who is available. As the greatest Briton of all (Winston Churchill) once said, 'we'll just keep buggering on with what we've got'!
