Report: | Only a short report......
Normal start to the season, everyone been training hard strict diet regime....not
Did not see Trevor's game but having played him the night before and realized he kept feeding the ball back to me, he was still coaching, thought this might be a problem and with the lack of match play effected the end result which fell in Dan's favor.
Myself and Alex had a close battle, nearly as close as the one between Alex and the marker!! For a change it wasn't me! I really didn't have my head on, this fathering lark at my age does tend to take your mind off things, anyway I got going after loosing the first two games and made it 2-2 only to loose the fifth. Well played Alex.
Matt's mojo was definitely not there this night with pressures else where leaving what looked like to be an on form Dave to take control from the start and not let Matt into the game. For the third Matt started to dig in and looked like winning this one with Dave running out of steam I thought Matt could win this, but Dave held on long enough pip him 10-9 and take the match.
Stewart's game was fairly predictable as in their last encounter Stew's fitness won through after loosing the first two, this time after being injured all last season a slightly rotund Stew couldn't respond to Ian's accuracy and power to close out the third.
Finally James and Antonio, a good match watch but james as always the stronger player remaining focused throughout. The third was a tight game with Antonio storming off to a 5-0 lead but antonio started a bit of arguing with the marker with few desperate calls, at this point James even got a bit testy, must be the footballer in him, but his self control won the day. 3-0 to James.
Good match played with some good lads.
