| Report: | Not much to say about this one. What looked on paper to be a set of closely fought matches turned out to be a bit of a damp squib.
Numbnuts v Stuart
Lots of long rallies with the usual mad retieving by Numbnuts who generally kept control of things.
Grim Reaper v Chris
The Reaper back to his grim best and wrapped things up in pretty quick order.
Sweaty Sock v Tom.
Close error ridden first game, Tom the stopped the errors and Sweaty didn't.
Debt Collector v Olly
DC didn't play to badly but error free sqaush from Olly. Perfect length and sharp at the front.
Zimbabwean Warthog v Ravi
Good start from Warthog followed by a not great looking injury to Ravi's knee in the second which brought the curtain down on this one pretty early.
So the ugly bunch won ugly but I suppose a win is a win. They can't all be pretty.
Not much to talk about on court but a good laugh with the Dulwich lads as always in the bar.
Hope the injury clears up quickly Ravi.
Highlight of the night did not happen in our match. With an early finish I had time to stick my head round the corner to watch the 2nds playing Bexley. Dave Harris was 2/1 up and looking bloody knackered. 7/7 in the 4th and Dave hit a ball far too close to himself with the opponent waiting behind. A clear cut stroke but the marker gave a let. Elliot didn't sound off and Dave apologised to the marker for undermining his decision and conceded the point.
Pretty sporting stuff in my opinion. |
