Report: | Park Langley took on Waterfont in a 2nd v 3rd match up. Funnily enough, we had the privilege of being on the PL main courts for the first time this season (We thought OD's was fast becoming our home)
Tom v Simon
Simon came out all guns blazing in the first game, throwing Tom completely around the court with his ability to play dieing drops from seemingly anywhere! Tom tightened up to take the next couple, before Simon hit 5 winners to take the 4th. A tight 5th game was finally decided by a framed shot that turned out to be an inretrievable boast!
1-0 PL
Paul v Koren
I saw nothing of this but I'm told by Paul that it was all shaping up to be a long, hard fought, rally ensuing match until Koren unfortuantely suffered shin splints early on in the 2nd, and Paul duely took the match!
2-0
Rich v Paul
Looking to atone for last week's dismal surrendering of A 2-0 lead, the captain was determined to prove his worth and finally managed to play some decent squash! That said, Paul still took him all the way in the 2nd with a string of peachy shots taking him to a 7-3 lead. Rich regained focus and after scraping the 2nd, closed out the 3rd to take the match!
3-0 PL
Peter v John
Again, saw nothing of this match as I was playing at the time, but I'm told Peter was in pretty imperious form, closing out the match in next to no time. Good job Peter!
4-0 PL
Chris v Steve
A pretty close 3-0 win, Chris playing his usual "batter this ball until it surrenders" style, while Steve was gamely retrieving and picking off some nice winners. A close fought 3-0 win and some customary banter to the marker from Chris (it wouldn't be a Tuesday night without it!)
A good job done by the PL "Under 25s + Pete", albeit against a much depleted Waterfront side, good chat in the bar and an enjoyable evening. The main courts obviously do us a treat!
