Report: | Holidays, sickness and the small matter of a football match left the tie in doubt but Bromley managed 4 players after a frantic search for players
Mark vs Gordon, slow start for Mark with Gordon running him around at the front on the backhand side (as usual). After weathering the storm though Mark took the match in 4.
Brad vs Keith, A workmanlike performance from Masters junior, just a bit too fit and “young” for Keith
Matt vs Nick, this has not been a happy place for Nick in the past (lots of matches, not many points!), but it was a different story tonight, in conjunction with Matt’s time on court being reduced with new baby priorities, the match was very competitive. After sharing the first two games, Matt finally got the thought of nappies and changing mats out of his head and stretched his legs to take the match 3-1.
Josh vs Ted, the match of the night with at times it looking more like an exhibition rather than a proper match. Ted took the first two controlling the rallies and dictating the pace although Josh was always there or there abouts. The momentum changed in the third with Josh taking an early lead and towards the end Ted complaining about his knee and a tight t shirt??. Ted gave away the forth and started well in the fifth but in the end Josh took it 9-5 to win the match and keep his amazing 100% start to the season going.
Lasagne for the men, Macaroni cheese for the veggie and salad for the girls. Good food and a good night with England doing pretty well in the football, the over dramatic Italians next for England and Dulwich for us in a couple of weeks.
