| Report: | BH only managed to bring three fighters to the ring on Tuesday and it was this that ultimately cost them the points on a sweltering night at the Warehouse Arena. Due to being on court for almost the entire session there's not much to review from the other two bouts.
Lark v Mariner - the away man took several points to get out of first gear but once that was done he played some clean squash to claw back a deficit and take the first. That's all I saw. 3-0 BH.
Carr v Wanford - didn't see one point of this. Didn't sound very close. 3-0 BH.
Snow v Garrett - the warm up of crashes into the tin and crashes into the nick followed into the first game as both seemed keen to avoid a re-run of the hour+ battle from the first leg. At 8-3 Garrett should have taken it the first but, in a trend that seemed inevitable, he wasn't able to finish his opponent off and the homer skipper chipped away and took it 9/8. The second was taken relatively comfortably but as the bell sounded for the third it heated up. It felt like – and bear with me on this – two middle weight boxers having a slugfest - neither knowing when they’ve taken enough punishment but neither prepared to stay down for the count. Neither seemed quite strong enough to land the knock out punch or quite skilful enough to keep out of trouble and win on points. It wasn’t without its fair share of unforced errors admittedly, but nothing was left ringside that’s for sure. Both seemed relieved to end a game earlier than last time especially the home team who were contemplating the real threat of losing to three at one stage, but scraped home to take the, undeserved on the night, bonus points.
