Report

Report:An early night at Dulwich due the David Lloyd only having a 4 man team.

First up was Ian and Mat and Mat stormed off to a 4-0 lead but as Ian began to wake up it got harder for Mat to score points. Once the first game was done it was larely one way traffic with Mat playing a few good rallys along the way but Ian had too much on the night and took it 3-0.

On the other court Antonio and Martin were starting their 2nd epic 5 set match of the season. As before Antonio was too hot to handle early on and won the first two games with cleaner and more accurate shots. Antonio seemed to want a rest in the 3rd game and actually left the court a point early. He was dragged back on court and forced to play out a few more rallys before being allowed to take an official rest. The next two games were close and well fought with both players having opportunities to get on top but it was Martin who came out on top in both and hence won another hard fought 5 setter.

Back on the other court it was Jack and Toby with Jack struggling a little with his ankle. Jack had too much guile for Toby and despite Toby taking a close 3rd set Jack made sure in the 4th to close out a 3-1 win.

Finally it was Dave and Nathan and the ball seemed to be flighing in all directions but not necessarily in the right directions early on. Dave looked to be marching to an early 1st game win at 6-0 up but Nathon gradually closed the gap and despite two game points for Dave it was Nathan who claimed it. Dave seemed to then be strugling a little as Nathan got into his stride to take the 2nd game. Dave then walked through the 3rd game with hardly a hand out so maybe Nathon was planning for the 4th set which he duly finished off to take it 3-1.

So Dulwich 3 won again and retain their 3rd spot in the league safe for now.
