Report

Report:There was buzz of anticipation at the Giant Arches track as one of the new teams on the grid pulled in to take on Dulwich 1st team. Slightly misleadingly given there is no intention to play at David Lloyd, team DL-Bromley has a squad that can cause any teams problems, even losing their number 1 Jamie.

Showing an unusual turn of pace it was Tim that got things off to a flying start with a decent quality performance against Ted. As always the engines were always revving under Ted’s head but despite going down in three there were no smashes.

Hot off a couple of laps round Berlin at the weekend, Chris started well against Ket but then started to fade. Having managed to get to 2-1, he was running on fumes in the fourth. However, a quick change in strategy in the fifth and he was back on top closing out an entertaining encounter in 5.

Making his debut for the firsts, Will N started with his foot to the floor against Gordon but struggled to open up much of a lead possibly slightly confused by the red slicks and white intermediates that Gordon was sporting on each foot.

Jim & Paul played out a sporting affair and there was almost no need for someone to Mark, webber by agreement or as they knew they fancied a friendly down the road there was barely a decision to be had. Jim edged the first, cruised the second and then seemed relieved to be back in the pits after the third as Paul continued to pressure him.

Andy started superbly against Stuart and looked to on his victory lap when leading 2-0 and 8-4, However, either he took his foot off the gas or blew a gasket, but Stuart charged back into contention to edge it 10/9. Seemingly having guzzled a Red Bull, Stuart came out firing in the fourth firing the ball in short to great effect to level things up. At 4/5 in the fifth it looked like it would go the finishing line but it was Stuart who managed to get his nose ahead and closed out the win.

The Olleys Fish & Chips was, as always, on the Button but an Eccles, stone me, cake would have rounded it off nicely. Another fun Priory league evening, and with a week off the team Massa now contemplate a road trip to Tunbridge Wells, which lies somewhere between Caterham and Brand Hatch!
