Report:First up….Rob vs "The Student"
Beware anyone that comes up against Rob in "Trim" mode!! Re-juvenated, he was ready to fight for the win and both players treated us to a close battle. The Student, winning the first but Rob pulling ahead to 2-1. That effort looked to have drained Rob's energy levels as he crumbled to a 9-1 loss in the 4th but again he raised his game to clinch the fifth. Credit where credit is due, Rob has taken some stick from me and last nights win deserves nothing but praise….nope can't do it, Big Rob split his trousers after the match!!! Ha ha ha!!!

On the other court, Joss vs Daddy McMeckan (again!!!)…is that the 3rd or 4th time this season!?!
The first two games were close again, Joss claiming them 9-6, 9-6, and it had all the hallmarks of going further than 3 games. Alistair was running well and the lengths were proving a problem for Joss. In the third though, a long rally sent Alistair's face a bright shade of red and he started to puff. Joss was able to close out the third to maintain his STILL unbeaten record.

Lee stepped on to play Andy on one court as I stepped on against Lewis on the other. We were both finished at the same time too!! Luckily Lee's performance was far better than mine as he defeated an "immodium-ed up" Andy. Is that an illegal drug I hear you ask??? Not sure, but we decided we were glad he took them, wouldn't have been a pretty game otherwise!

...oh and Lewis demolished Captain SlackBadger 3-0!! too fast, too good!!...next time!

Last up was Steve vs Ian. Steve was in no mood for laughs!! Tired from National age group duties at the weekend he needed to get on and off as quick as possible to rest those OLD limbs. Rumour has it that Ian's attitude on court left something to be desired...I reckon it was sour grapes that Bexley refused to play with his oval balls (squash balls!!)

17-5 the points. Bexleys winning run continues!!

BEXLEY SEND BCC FURTHER DOWN THE TELEGRAPH POLE

Bexley arrived without the 'Girl' and Mark 'Steady' Steeden, although Rob turned up in a dashing suit. Someone had misinformed him that the DulwichSki bar maid had been pinched by BCC.
Unforuneatly BCC couldn't muster an all star team either.
The Dutch Prodigy was in Brazil, whilst HOBO hadn't been found. Rumour has it that as it was his birthday, some kind soul had provided some shelter for the night.

On first were the 'Student' and Rob at 3 whilst Dad took on Tosh at 4.

'Student' Vs Rob (3)

Both players are going through a tough period in their squash careers (a bit like Sol) and are finding wins hard to come by. You felt both players were very fragile.
Student took the first game impressively. Rob had been in the lead, and looked like running away with it, but Student (fresh from a 4 week drinking break) fought back with an impressive array of backhand winners.
In the 2nd game at 2 - 1 to Rob, he played an awful drive that nearly hit him. He then had the audacity to claim that the ball was shaped like an egg. True enough after much eggspection, the ball was deemed unplayable. A new ball was granted, and Rob came out of his shell and won the next two games easily.
The Students' confidence was fragile, for the 1st time this season he showed his emotion, and lobbed his racquet. This sparked him into life in the 4th, and coupled with a string break for Rob, forced a decider.
The 5th game was about who wanted it more. Despite the game being close early on, Rob had enough skill and will to win to beat Student 3 - 2.
Rob needed that win for his own self esteem, whilst playing against better opponents brought the best out of Student.

Dad Vs Tosh (4)

The editor didn't see this game, but needless to say Tosh maintained his 100% record. The 1st two games were very tight 9-6 9-6. Dad had the game to move Tosh around, however a long rally in the 3rd took the wind out of Dad and he lost 3-0

King Lewy Vs The Badger (1)

In an obvious tactical ploy, The Badger sacrificed himself at 1 for the benefit of the team. King Lewy was too good for The Badger who seemed to tire towards the end of each game. King Lewy ran out a comfortable winner, dropping only a handful of points in the process.
Personally I believe The Badger was running scared. He knew he would have to play captain, but for the third time this season, he opted out.
One day the Beaver and Badger will get it on!

Big Andy vs Lee (5)

I've not seen Lee before, but BCC felt it was a real chance for Andy to win, and draw the match level.
Unfortuneatly for Big Andy, his decision to stop drinking has backfired on him. He is now suffering from severe runs. He had been sh*ting through a needle all weekend, and had to change 7 pairs of boxers and two pairs of shorts, and that was just in the 1st game.
Lee was quick around the court, retrieving everything. Andy wasn't his usual fluid self and played too losely. He battled hard, but Lee was just too good on the night.
Tosh the marker received a fair bit of verbal from Big Andy, but Lee maintained his calm persona and won 3-0. A strong performance from a newcomer. If only BCC had the same depth of players as Bexley.

Captain vs Steve (2)

I do love talking about myself, but there wasn't much to write about this match. Steve who had been playing all weekend in the O55 Kent Squad, still had too much for Captain. Captain couldn't get a grip on Steves' game, lost his head, and the match 3-0.

Bexley won again, handing BCC their 5th defeat on the trot in 2006. It's fast becoming a Annus Horriblus.

From Captains point of view there's some serious team building that needs implementing.
There's arguments amongst players, players dropping out and showing lack of commitment.
Big Andy left early (although that was because he had run out of underwear), several key players can't play next week (women before Squash?). Even King Lewy is showings signs of defection. He's begun playing super league for arch rivals Biggin Hill.

P.S Sorry for the delay in this report. I had an interview at the Telegraph (100% true), you couldn't write it could you? - Crazy!
