Report

Report:It was new black tarmac rather than a red carpet that welcome Bromley CC to Giant Arches this cold February evening. Sadly they could only muster 4 musketeers, but nonetheless it was battle royale lasting long in to the night.

First up, Tim took on old adversary Neil. The latter started the better leading the first before allowing the Dulwich captain back into it and to take the game. The second was nip and tuck all the way with Neil having a couple of game balls but unable to close things out and after a brief fight back it was Dulwich who got on the scoreboard first.

Meanwhile Will & James were having their usual Titanic battle. James led, Will pegged things back to lead 2-1, before James levelled things up to take it into a decider. However, Will was far from done and romped through the fifth to zero. Dark thirty minutes earlier, his mood was buoyant as he put Dulwich up three nil on the night.

Andy began brightly against Sam taking the first and easing to an 8/1 in the second, however, he was suddenly Afflecked with doubts and was unable to get the crucial final point with Sam catching up and going past to level it at one a piece. However, Andy was unperturbed taking the third before a big battle in the fourth that was ultimately to decide the match. Sam took it and closed things out, leaving Andy les Miserables.

On the other court Antonio and Matt were going toe to toe trying to gain the upper hand. Matt succeeded early on, opening up a two game lead but Antonio has been working hard on making himself a lean mean fighting machine and clawed things back. There was never much in it and so it ended with Antonio just on the right side of the score-line 9/7. It had the potential for some Argo bargy but was actually a great scrap.

So Will headed off in A. Lincoln, sorry, his Yaris, to pick up the Olleys fish & chips and everyone enjoyed a well earned feed, relived in some ways that it was only 4-aside or we would have been on the Midnight Express home.
