Report

Report:Unfortunately Biggin Hill were a couple of players short due to injuries but they made the effort and turned up with a 3 man team to give it a go - they were also keen to get stuck into the Olleys fish and chips after the match!

1st up were Duncan and Simon and this one was too close to call early on with a mammouth 1st set that saw each player have a handful of game points before Simon took it on the 10th game point to go 1 up. Duncan managed to stem the tide in the 2nd set and took an early lead and made that count to level things up. The following two games were much the same as the 2nd and Duncan just had enough and was making slightly less mistakes and so it finished 3-1.

On the other court the number 1's were battling it out - both called Ant!. Ant G was too hot in the 1st and took that with a string of points towards the end of the game. Ant P fought back in the 2nd but it was tight all the way until Ant P strung together a bunch of points near the end so it was now 1-1. Ant P then seemed to be in control in the 3rd game and there were some long rallys that went his way too so that made it 2-1 to Ant P. The 4th was going the same way when Ant G was struck by an injury and then it was all over - that is two injured players in two matches now!

Finally in this short night of squash it was Jack and Will and these two seemed to be quite well matched with each player putting together string of winning rallys in each of the 1st two games resulting in a 1-1 scoreline. The 3rd game seemed to be the decider and Jack just managed to shade it and then took an early lead in the 4th and held Will off to take the match 3-1.

Olley took a rest this week in the kitchen and instead or was Duncy whipping out his Nigellaisimo meatballs and spaghetti with special side salad for rabbit food munching Ant P. Washing up has become an alien concept to the Dulwich 3rd team players so we sent the youngster in to the kitchen to investigate - well done Jack!

Wishing Biggin Hill good luck in reducing their injury list soon so that they can stay competitive.
