Report: | Beckenham had a dreadful experience at the away game and was hoping for a good return to settle the score and felt that tonight was the night even though their no.2 was missing. Alas the result was not one which was desired.
Simon and Roald were on first and with Simon's spasming back muscles filtering through to a twitching hand which led to many tin shots. Roald took the game even though Simon still fought hard in the third. Guy brutally despatched Richard with some lovely rallies. Even though Richard only took one point the match lasted longer than Matt and Phil's game. This seemed to be over so fast I thought they had only played one game. It was Blackheath's turn to be brutal there.
After a pause in the match as Ville and Andy wanted to make an entrance later in the evening we recommenced.
Andy and Paul were ready first and I thought everything was going well when I heard 5-0 to Paul in the first game. The next thing I know Paul had gone down 3-0.
Ville who couldn't find the right train station to arrive at the club certainly found the right places on the court and a great final match ensued with some difficult calls having to be made by the umpire. It was agreed that Warwick took fair play a tad too far by allowing a let even though it was generally agreed on the balcony it was a stroke. Ville returned the sportsmanship by not allowing Warwick to get another handout and took the match within seconds ....(thanks!)
A lovely evening again with a great team who we were happy to help them stay clear of relegation! |
