Report

Report:Not too much to say about this one. PL got tonked basically. Due to various injuries, holidays etc, the PL line-up looked a bit different to normal.

Rich v Harsum was first on court. Adam playing probably his best squash of the season, established an early lead mixing decent lengths with good short winners. Steve hung in though, and a few too many mistakes crept in for Adam. After a determined rearguard action in the 4th game, Steve's luck took a (major) turn for the better and he ran out a comfortable winner in the last.

Mark Sheldon having been coaxed out of semi-retirement due to the personnel shortage, produced a superb performance on the other court. For someone who has picked up a squash racket once in the past ? months, his touch seemed very assured, and he grabbed up PL's only crumb of comfort from the night.

Next it was yours truly against Dulwich star Tim Garner. Playing as though he was still in the world top 30 (well it felt like it from where I was running diagonals all night), Tim produced an impressive array of shots to every part of the court, whilst apparently assuring the spectators "but I am taking it easy"! Far too good I'm afraid.

Due to short numbers, the last match on featured Messrs Bonner and Moore. Didn't see too much of this one, as I was busy getting trounced for the first part of it, but Andy B was unable to maintain his good start against an opponent who struck the ball sweetly around the court. Still, it makes a change for Andy to be suffering from too much squash.

If Courtspy is interested, I predict that PL will continue to struggle to put teams out, with resident whirlwind and guaranteed banker Steve Pratt out for a few weeks.
