Report

Report:So final game of the season and Park Langley welcomed Bexley Park for the finale. Both teams already promoted so nothing to play for, right? Very very wrong! The PL boys were gunning for a perfect season whilst Bexley Park still had a chance of snatching the title if they could win by 14pts or more. Game on...

First up Robbie vs. Dean
Young Robbie is getting better each week we see him take to the court, in fact it seemed in this match he may well have been getting better with every shot! A very good opponent in Dean, there were some excellent rallies in this and dominance swayed back and forth plenty of times. Eventually though, Robbie came through in the fifth to put PL 1 up on the night.

Meanwhile on court 4, Toby vs. Fraser
I didn't see too much of this game but what I did, it looked like a good contest between 2 very willing runners and some excellent retrievals. Toby looked to be in control at the end of the 3rd and I assume the game continued in its tightness with Toby pipping it at the end of the 4th. PL 2 up and the title now secured.

Nilen vs. Andy
A really good game here, Nilens been in excellent form of late and was up against a very good Andy, using his reach to good effect with tight drops and accurate volleying. Having gone 1 up with a game of drives and high pressure play, Nilen then was caught cold by Andy's persistent dieing lobs and tight length. Thankfully he then remembered what had won him the first game and promptly took advantage of a tiring Andy.

On the other court, Paul vs. Ross
Hardly saw any of this game due to marking but I gather Paul embarked upon another of his "I'm going to retrieve everything, and demoralise you into defeat" judging by the look on Ross' face after the match!

So finally Adam vs Darren
A good game to watch, 2 incredibly attacking players who can produce shots at will. Unfortunately for Adam, Darren's attacking shots were hitting more nicks and were slightly tighter. A longer match than the scoreline would suggest, Darren ran out 3-0 winner.

So all in all a good night for Park Langley although it could've been a very different story if the three 3-2's had gone the other way. Well played to Bexley Park and congratulations on promotion. See you next season!!
