| Report: | Diasterous start to the season for Bexley....but we are still Cornwallis Champions and we WILL keep clinging on to past glories!!!
First up Matt vs Mark. A close match last season, surely a close one this time round...NO!! Total Toilet!! Both players seemed to be playing their hardest to lose...and Matt won (at losing). Unlucky Mark, you lost!!
At the same time Lee and Simon were battling things out. Both had splashed out and put new grips on just before the start. Lee told me afterwards that he had accidentally put on Slicks instead of Wet weather grips which had gifted Simon the 3-0 win. Call me a synic but that sounds like an excuse!..a good one!
Steve started slowly against John and at 9pm Bexley still didn't have a point. Luckily for us, Steve got himself in gear and took Bexley back in the running for the match.
Jelly-legged Mark Steeden (the secret Mars bar muncher) gave Gordon a taste of his own medicine with some great drops to win 3-1. After a slight wobble in the 2nd, he blitzed the 4th to leave it up to Joss and Ray to decide the match.
With the undefeated champion stepping up Bexley were confident of the win. However Ray had other ideas. He went 2-0 up before Joss pulled one back. Sadly the Debt collector finished off Joss (and Bexley) in the fourth. As punishment for beating us and ending "Joss' magnificent streak", the Bexley players ate Rays dinner. We aren't bitter or petty.
