Report

Report:Rather then end of the campaign, this was the start of the defence with ground sharing Dulwich 2 taking Dulwich 1 at Giant Arches.

There had clearly been much tactics talked on the second team curry night as they fielded a side more than capable or causing an upset. First up, Captain Tim took on Jamie. The latter started impressively firing in winners to open an early lead however Tim’s patience paid off as he started to pull back the points to take first. Jamie levelled it with second, and always looked close to springing a win, but the devastating winners were interspersed with just enough tins for Tim to get home in 4.

Across the road, Chris & Neil were having a fiery encounter with plenty of physicality in between some quality squash. Neil edged what was potentially a crucial first and although Chris pulled one back as the tackles got more bruising, it was Neil who was able to find his way across the goal line to put the 1st up two-nil.

Back from her Amsterdam training camp, Lauren made a guest appearance and it was clear that Dave had taken it seriously arriving with a half-eaten banana. Not sure if he finished it off but despite pushing her close in each game he was unable nick a game and the overall fixture was the 1sts.

After his own Swiss training camp, Jim had returned in less than tip top shape. However, some pres-season training as the Lansdowne Club has clearly paid off as he set about the task of beating Neal. Ideally, one thought in straight games, as having lost the third he appeared in trouble at 2/5 in the fifth before running through a string of points to set up 4-0.

Last up was the much anticipated battle of Wills. Brownsdon had the better at the club tournament, but Nicholson had taken last month’s internal league match. It was the former, who stepped up to the plate and delivered a knock-out performance to win in straight games and seal the 5-0 score line.

Certainly flattering, but enjoyable none the same! (sorry El Ravi!)

So a fun match amongst Team Dulwich, no trip to Rio at the end of proceedings just a couple of beers and some lovely grub from Olleys.
