Report: | Bromley Hammer Depleted DulwichSki
BCC hosted DulwichSki in their 1st home game of the season. DulwichSki were without their non flying dutchman (Tim Garner), whilst a whole host of winter players had decided to opt out of the summer season.
BCC made one enforced change, bringing in Big Andy for JT (aka Coach), who was on holiday.
Lewis Vs Ian (No1)
King Lewy was no match for Ian (who usually plays @4). Excited by his impending trip to Las Vegas, King Lewy brushed aside Ian in 3 quick fire games. Ian's retrieving was good, but King Lewy always had that final shot. 'Vive King Lewy'
Tony 1 Liner vs Mark (No4)
His name is derived from the fact that his jokes are awful, and they are always one liners. However, despite his lack of sense of humour, Tony has worked his way back into the 1st team, after a season in the 2nd team. He coasted the 1st two games, and it looked at one stage like it would finish 27-0. However Mark found some inspiration and turned the match on it's head. He began retrieving well and putting pressure on Tony and his drops. Tony made a series of unforced errors, and duly lost the 3rd, and then struggled in the 4th. Somehow Tony found some resolve and managed to snatch the game and the match 3-1.
Dutch Prodigy vs Nick (No2)
Last season Michel wsa nicknamed 'Dutch Prodigy', a nickname given to him to keep him sweet as it was his 1st season with the big boys. However he's fully integrated himself within the team, and has now taken over the mantle from HOBO, as the most ridiculed player.
A combination of pie beers and cricket has led some to say that Dutch Prodigy is looking overweight. At 1st I was going to comment on this, but then he out did himself last night.
After losing comprehensivly to old Uni mate Matt Badger last week, he couldn't face his squash kit. He left it in his bag all week, hence it stank like stale feet. Even his girlfriend Laura took the mickey out of him.
Captain never saw this game, but 'Skunk' won easily without breaking a sweat. (At least his bag won't smell next week).
Captain Vs Jeremy (No3)
Captain had nearly recovered from last weeks fight. The swelling around his eyes had gone down, but he still had a Harry Potter scar across his forehead.
Having to rush off afterwards to a course in Bristol, Captain conjured up some magic and demolished Jeremy in quick fire time. The match was over before the No5's had even finished 2 games.
Big Andy Vs Ian (No5)
Big Andy was drafted in, and at first it looked like a mistake as he lost the 1st game 9-0. The 2nd was following the same pattern, until Big Andy began to get his act together. He took the next two and was 6-0 up in the 4th. However Ian put in a captains performance and fought back. He forced a decider and prevailed to earn his team 3pts.
BCC 2nd win in a row, a comprehensive 19-4 victory. Early season talk about remaining unbeaten throughout the season was soon dampened by 'Skunk'.
