| Report: | The onward march continues. With the match rearranged to avoid the footie, PL were champing at the bit to get at Dulwich who turned up without their star.
First up, Adam and Ian G. Adam made very short work of this match, cruising through very efficiently against a none too impressed opponent.
Meanwhile Whirlwind was proving that Nick wasn't about to live up to his name. Another tidy performance as he girds his loins ready to stride up the order.
Next came substitute (and what a sub) Dave Harris against Will. Dave entertained the crowd in his usual inimitable fashion, producing an array of dazzling shots to counter the Will's strong running and retrieving.
Then on to the author v Ian A. Since Ian likes to clout the ball around very hard most of the time (which he proved by hitting CLive on the foot with a 100mph plus serve on the first point of the match), it seemed like the ideal opportunity to do the exact opposite. So, the lob and dink tactics were duly produced, and another 3-0 was up on the board.
Last on were Andy v Ed. Andy is tentatively coming back from injury, and it showed. Despite staging a comeback from 2-0 down to win the 3rd comfortably and get to 8-0 up in the 4th (with only two hand-outs!) Andy succumbed to the rigours of the game, with Ed turning on the afterburners to run up Dulwich's entire points tally.
As of now, PL enter the business end of the season. Biggin Hill will no doubt be looking to capitalise on the PL no.1's disappearance for the rest of the season. |
