Report:FLU RIDDEN BCC BOUNCE BACK

A very ill BCC stopped the rot of 3 consecutive defeats with a welcome win over Division 1 whipping boys Dulwich.

Handsome James and El Capitano had been on a five day bender in Poland and Berlin. Sampling the wonder that is Polish Women, (along with a music festival) and then enjoying the WC final with all the Italians.

Keen to get their matches out of the way quickly before they fell asleep, Handsome James and El Capitano went on first.

Ian vs Handsome James (No 2)

Three nicknames in 3 matches, but this one will surely stick as it helped him to his first victory of the season.
So called because of his efforts in Poland. He was given this name from the start of the trip, and it payed off time and time again. The rest of the party would do all the ground work with the Polish chicks, only to lose out to Handsome James, the highlight being where he managed to pull a beauty, despite most of the festival trying to nab her.
No sleep in five days took it's toll on Handsome James in the first, but he turned it around in the next and went on to win comfortably 3-1, before falling asleep in the club bar.

Ian vs El Capitano (No 5)

Demoted to number 5, mainly as a safetly ploy because of the way he was feeling, El Capitano took on fellow captain Ian.
El Capitano had not been as fortunate as Handsome James in Poland, mainly because he was so drunk and kept falling over. In Germany he turned it round, and never even went to bed on the Monday night, partying with two German beauties until 6 in the morning.
Still reliving those memories, El Capitano put in his worst performance of the season. His shots were all over the place, his tactics were awful (as usual) and he had no energy in his legs. Despite that he somehow managed to win 3-2. (Deep down El Capitano underestimated Ians' determination to win for Dulwich)

Nick vs Dutch Prodigy (No 3)

A repeat match up of this fixture in the 1st half of the season. Dutch prodigy was determined to get back to winning ways, especially after last weeks defeat to Steve Falla. (Dutch Prodigy was still waiting for that apology)
However Dutch Prodigy was also feeling unwell.
He had been at an Indian wedding all weekend, and had had an Indian curry for breakfast, his stomach was still feeling the effects.

El Capitano was asleep for the 1st two games, but awoke to find Dutch Prodigy 2-0 up. He continued his fine squash in the 3rd (despite Nick putting on a 6th different shirt) and ran out an easy winner 3-0.

This win gave BCC the win - could they go on and earn maximum points?

Will vs King Lewy (No 1)

Fresh from a 2 week layoff due to illness, King Lewy bounced back in impressive style.

He took the first easily 9-0, then somehow lost the second 9-6. A tight 3rd followed, with Will showing some determined running, however King Lewy and one too many shots.

In the 4th King Lewy went 8-0 up, Will looked down and out. He did however stage a remarkable recovery and fought back to 8-7. King Lewy had the final say though.

Mark Vs TD (No 4)

Birthday boy looked like he was in party mode at the beginning of the match as he handed Mark the 1st. A tight second followed with the match turning into a niggly affair, with both players arguing and questioning the marker.
Mark won that, but TD was not going to lose on his birthday. He fought hard and used all the tricks in the book to take the next two games.
TD had worn down Marks' confidence and ran out an easy winner in the 5th 9-1.
A dogged display by TD, and a welcome win for El Capitano and BCC, even if they did finish at 10.45pm.

Next week is home to Amida, hopefully the team will have recovered from their drinking/partying exploits.
