Report: | After a gradual upsurge of bleating and complaints of 'having to much on my plate','A good few beers' Lennox has finally mugged the Debt Collector with match reports as well.
The long standing tradition of the away team arriving before 'The Hill' was duly honoured again last night with Cannons pacing the corridors but only with four players due to Sam's absence.
First up, 'A good few beers' v Rich Kimpton.
Didn't see this one as I was on court But I am told from sources of both teams this was a good quality game with long hard rallies. Boiling conditions ensured AGFB would win this sort of match and duly did 3-0.
Rich is now off to Estonia for 10 days to work hard on his fitness with altitude training.(how high can I get this pint!)
Debt Collector v Pete Wilmor
A good hard scrap last time we played but a few too many errors and high drops by Peter allowed the Collector to scoope a 3-0 win.
Stu 'Silverback' Clarke v Albert
Sorry Stu but the hair and physique remind me of Guy the gorrilla!
Good to see Albert back on court but a bit out of touch at the moment. The Silverback duly wrapped this one up in double quick time even with his mate and offspring heckling at the few errors he made.
'Laney' v Dave Leach
Everything that happened before this match was cast into the shadows by events that unfolded.
First two games were won with relevent ease by a controlled and measured Dave, match ball was reached in the 3rd when the drugs finally kicked in to Laneys bloodstream and all hell was let loose! Jon nicks it 10-9.
Not to be denied Dave sets out on a controlled path in the 4th but the drugs are in full flow to counter Daves skillful shotmaking.Matchballs came and went but another steal by Jon 10-9.
Half way through the 5th and the white stuff has worn off leaving a lanky floundering waist of space lurching round the court,Dave sensing Jon is coming off his trip went for a couple of winners tinning each time giving Jon a glimmer of hope which he duly grabbed.
A day later and I still can't see how Dave lost this one. He was MUGGED! |
