Report: | Highlights - Easton Jnr playing at 5 for BLT - his dad won't buy him a racket and he doesn't like his dad's wooden one, so he had to borrow. The only player in Div 2 with an age lower than his nomination number showed some flashes of talent but needs to beef up a bit before he takes on another heavy hitter like Chris.
Ian 'The Hammer' Hammerton hammered Chris Sayer's backside with the ball after Chris performed a double dummy with gazelle-like vertical leap and failed to clear the path of the ball. Two close first and third games with lots of great rallies - winners and errors strewn around like pearls before swine.
Ron 'Bionic Legs' Terry claimed he was injured, but it was hard to tell under all his bandages. Tubby Tel marking gave him a conduct warning for being smaller than his opponent - a clear example of sizeism at its ugliest. Ron stopped making an effort to get to the ball after that, but won anyway.
'PJ' was sick, but played anyway. Keith was sick of PJ crowding his backswing, but played the ball anyway. He felt 'inhibited' but really meant 'interfered with'. None of Keith's teammates were prepared to mark his match, so he probably deserved to be.
Easton senior lost from 2-0 up. Author did not see how he did it.
Knole were pleased to survive their first foray into Div 2. |
