Report

Report:A fairly routine end of season affair with Bexley fielding a weakened team. PL duly cashed in and helped themselves to the title.

Steve v Brad was the game of the night. Very tight in the 1st as Steve was forced to make a good comeback from 5-10 down to take the game. After that it was a good battle with Steve always with his nose in front. Good controlled squash from Steve, and one or two mistakes here and there from Brad.

JEJ beat Ron pretty comfortably, although I saw none of it.

Steve P and Ant vied for the "let's see who can look like they want to get off court quickest" trophy. Steve was complaining of feeling ropey, but in the bar afterwards, the foghorn was back at full throttle and he was waxing lyrical about anything and everything, and how he was (is) going to chop up all the top order players and climb to the summit of the PL team ladder.

The author struggled as usual to work out what day of the week it was in the 1st (and to a lesser extent the 3rd), but generally had enough in hand to complete the win.

Nick completed the winning set with a pretty straightforward win and seemed to be making more than enough noise for all as he continued afterwards to hit with all and sundry (no doubt soon to be followed up with complaints about injury due to over-playing as usual.

A good campaign. I think, despite all the travails (particularly in the 1st half) with getting teams out, PL have weathered the holiday storm a little better than the oppos, and snuck up the table via the back door. Onwards and upwards to the winter ...
