Report

Report:Parklangley greeted Sundridge Park for what, as most agreed over dinner, was an evening of appalling, low quality squash. However this wasn’t known when the first team were dispatched to the outer courts due to the rotation system as the third team claimed the show courts to the expressed delight of the thronging masses.

First up was Mike vs Richard. Neither player apparently wanted to win this match, both determined to hack the ball into the tin or out at the top. Mike wasn’t tight enough at the right times and although Richard fought him hard in this endeavor the SP player found a couple of frames at the right times to win the match and, thankfully, put us all out of our misery. PL 0 – SP 1.

On the other court Andy was finding it difficult against Dave, unable to get the ball past the lumbering golem of a man, he was unable to impose his style onto the game. He almost grabbed the 3rd but Dave’s ability to hit winners is up there with the best and he was able to get over the line. PL 1 – SP 1

Kevin vs Ken were next up; a hushed, reverential anticipation settled upon the PL towers like an autumnal cloud, awaiting the clash of these colossi. Disappointment then followed as two buffoons combined to embarrass the Squash world. Kevin came from 2-1 down to win but nobody wants to remember this game. PL 2 – SP 1

Simon loss to Justin was entirely down to abhorrent marking. There is clearly no other explanation for this. LOL. PL 2 – SP 2

It all came down to the final game. Stuart; who all agree isn’t, never was and never will be any good at Squash, was luckily that Ray fancies men in beards. We can only assume it was this or something similar such was his overwhelming urge to give Stuart the game. Stuart managed a couple of decent lengths from time to time but Ray kept finding the tin – eventually prompting him to apologise to his team and opponent. Not a good night for the SP man. PL 3 – SP 2

A couple of the PL players stomped off in to the night disgusted with their performance but luckily, while the sport was dire there was still world-class chat and good sausages to be had at the bar. Andy clearly demonstrating his squash knowledge to the chagrin of beardy. He’s right Stu, accept it. #notbanter

February 3rd 2015 is the return. I suggest the entire Squash community come down to Sundridge Park to watch it, it’s going to be epic.
