| Report: | Well the much anticipated return match between the Langley teams finally came to pass and it did not disappoint.
The crowd in attendance was of considerable size with Mrs Load and her faithful elf dominating the front row !!
PL3 had a couple of missing faces at the bottom of the order but in actual fact lead to a match at 5 that warmed the heart for old gits like me.
Young Jack and Declan, good mates off court and really giving a good show of themselves and showing us all at PL the future of our team squash is in good hands as they are the cream on the top of a whole raft of youngsters coming through. (I don't include Gina in the youngsters category any more as she's proper grown up !)
Missed the game between Sweaty and Cheap but sounded like it was well contested with Sweaty gaining retribution this time around.
Also missed the big fella verses Andy (come to think of it, where was I all night !)
A long game with Andy doing really well to pull 2 games back before Dave drawing on his bucket full of experience to get the job done in the fifth.
Best game of the night was between Gina and Chicken Legs.
A very cagey affair in the first two games which Chicken Legs edged in both cases.
That said, there was a gradual shift towards Gina as she started to dominate the rallies more into the third and forth games.
Crucial mistakes by Chicken Legs at 5/5 in the fourth and it has to be said virtually error free squash from this point onwards from Gina sealed the outcome in favour of Gina.
A bloody good game to watch and a pleasure to mark with two of the most honest and sporting people in the league playing each other. |
