| Report: | A big struggle this week to field a full team. Just managed to get a fifth player (Paul) on the day then the evening got even better when Limpsfield were missing Seb Young.
As Paul was on bar duty, in order to play his match we had to get Doc to cover for him. Having only got bar cover for half an hour Paul went on determined to finish his match as quickly as possible win or lose. The time constraint seemed to focus Paul and he won 3-0 within 15 minutes against Phoebe who was hitting the ball very well in the warm up. Apparently Paul’s wife is also used to everything being over in 15 minutes (including the cigarette).
Keeley v James was a good match to watch (and mark). Lots of good squash played in the right spirit. The matches were a lot tighter than the 3-0 score line suggests. James was a gentleman and Keeley’s manners were impeccable!
Didn’t see any of Ian or James’ matches, but by all accounts they were comfortable wins.
Will and I had a good game with Will running away with it in the end.
As usual food was excellent. There was a bit of a scramble about who would be taking home the leftovers. I think Ian wanted it for a midnight snack whilst Keeley wanted it to save her cooking Steve a dinner tomorrow (lazy cow).
James didn’t get a look in as he was too busy trying to think where to get nappies at this late hour. Don’t know why he doesn’t just use a colostomy bag at his age. |
