Report

Report:This was a top of the table clash but BCC were missing Keeley and I was well rough with Man Flu. Luckily Nuffield were also short of two players so the teams looked fairly even.

Ryan v Ted. 3-0 to Ted. No contest, but no surprise either as Ted has stepped down four leagues to play his squash. Only thing that pre-longed this match was the ball getting stuck up on the heater so they had to warm up another ball.

Dan v Mark. Didn’t see any of this but Mark just sneaked it in the 5th with all games being very tight affairs. They both must have enjoyed it as they were swapping numbers later in the bar. I’m sure they’ll make a lovey couple.

Me v Darren. In view of my Man Flu I decided that I wasn’t going to play my usual running game but instead go for winners. This went out of the window fairly quickly even though after some rallies my lungs felt like they were going to explode. Fortunately for me Darren made a few mistakes and was running on empty in the 5th allowing me to sneak a win.

Ian v Peter. Again, didn’t see this but most people would have had this as a comfortable 3-0 win to Ian which is how it turned out.

James v Robert. So this was the match decider. On paper an easy win for James but he hasn’t played in a while so you never know. I only saw the first game as I had to leave to cough my guts up, but the paper form triumphed and James won 3-0 and won the overall match for BCC.

The food afterwards was good as always. Darren was particularly impressed with the choice of four types of potato - boiled, roasted, mashed and chips. Strange that nobody went for the brussel sprouts. We call them ‘fart bombs’ in our house so maybe that’s why.
