Report: | A rehearsal for the cup semi-final in a couple of weeks. So, Knole kept their powder dry to avoid showing their hand too soon.
Gary didn't know about these team orders, so did a clinical job of reading Tekin's basho game - and in the process avoided the splinters from 2 well-abused rackets.
Tim had a marathon and ultimately frustrating tussle with Matt, in which both players did well in parts. The highlights, unfortunately, were the differences of opinion on when lets should be called for; when they should be allowed; and how many times it would take for the message to get through. The review system wasn't available until in the pub afterwards (so not much help).
Jerry and Mark had really good, well-behaved, and enthralling ding-dong. If Jerry had been able to snatch one more of the early games, he might have prevailed. In the end, Mark's better legs were the difference.
Mark F showed touches of his brilliance and his tinning ability in equal measure against Chris - and was perhaps unlucky not to steal the third. No contest after that as the puff, steam and knees gave up.
Peter stayed with Mike for a while - even through a friendly and at times confusing discussion about 'turning'. Then Mike's quickness and power took him through. Pete saving himself for the Cup?
