Report: | Ray Goldsmith's win over Malcolm Meadows completed possibly the most surprising start to a season that Divn 4 has seen in a long time.
Almost all the matches could have gone either way (and poor John Fisher didn't know he was up against a triathlete in near peak condition) and a mixture of tenacity and home advantage let the Bromley team take maximum points. Malcolm and Ray had the most spectators for their late-night match and full credit to Malcolm who almost made the complete come-back but for the timely return Ray's lethal sliced drop-shot.
As always Park Langley 3 are great company and no-one in the bar would have known that they had lost a match so comprehensively. Or did the never-ending Wogan review of the Eurovision Song Contest down the ages on the bar TV just stultify everyone's brain? Waterloo?! |
