Report

Report: Langley Towers Welcomed both PL3 and PL2 teams on a very warm evening and crowds were not disappointed .
Jacks playing Harris was spread around the borough - no that's later .

First up Newby v Newby. Both these guys started well tight shots from both and some good retrieving ,Charles took the first Brett was not going to lay down and came back and took the next two ,this seemed to take the sting out of Brett and Charles powered to the win 3/2

Jacks playing Harris - no that's later !

Next up T-shirt v Fergus , These have played many times before albeit Kev has never been so unfit ,he won the first but that was about it,Fergus stretched his legs and ran away with the match .

Jacks playing Harris no not yet !

Cheap v Mark , Now this had 0-3 all over it before the start and I think Mark was expecting the same ? Not to be Simon was playing some good stuff and shocked the waiting crowd (Jack v Harris) by winning the first and the third to push Mark to five sets .The hard games had also taken its toll just like Brett and Mark controlled the game from here on in , great effort from cheap .

Porky Plumber v Ray. A close first game saw both players testing each other with Ray playing his famous backhand drop to great effect taking the game and quicky the second , some words to porky and the third went in a flash playing like he should have in the first two . The fourth was even and porky had his chances to level it , but the resilient Debt collector held on and collected his points - Well played you old git glad to see you back on court .
Well that was it o no hang on the main event .
We had kept Dave waiting as long as we could to fill him up with the very need red bull and expresso after his long drive from up north .
Superman v Jack. At long last the waiting crowd watched a great game between tutor and pupil .
Dave took the first game but was struggling to get his breath back after each point - keep him running was jacks advice from the camp. Into the second and jack was playing just as the teacher taught him - Dave at this point was taking a tea break 1-1 level The third and superman was was a flying again hitting Knicks for fun and stole the game 9/7. Come on Jack keep him running , Dave left for another tea break (you sure that's tea dave) match level again 2-2 .
The fith was pure Dave Harris who really wasn't going to loose to the pupil ,well not this month anyway .
So a 4/1 loss but a few points anyway Langley club and squash the real winners .
Well played all .
