| Report: | The last minute shuffling of Bromley's squad to make good a couple of gaps in the 1st team seems to have done to harm as the 2nd team came away with a surprisingly convincing victory over the usually tricky Pavilion boys. Hilton showed firm resolve to overcome slightly off-form Keith in a match that was sometimes as challenging for the marker as the players. His greater consistency and range of shot were critical. Tom displayed unyouthful patience against Richard with repeated backhand drives interrupted by opportunistic drops (Richard) or deep cross-court drives (Tom) that allowed players to open up their range of shots. Tom found the nick and some extra pace that Richard's speed around the court could not counter. Kevin was on cracking form and Mark had no answers with either angle or pace of shot. Gary and Peter had relatively easy victories. Pavilion badly missed Nick and Mike! |
