Report: | In the first two matches the 4th & 5th strings slugged it out, Paul saving at least one match ball and ending with a balletic diagonal overhead drop (there must be a technical term). Manjit's amazing retrievals had almost won him the match. Peter was ground down by John until he was nackered (I'm sure there's a technical term) by the - for him - long rallies and better length of shot. Gary and Keith were too much for Phil and Paul before, league match won, Dave took on Mark and promptly lost two games. However, the more Dave busied his way about the court digging out some very accurate balls the more the effort showed in Mark whose legs had gone by the end. The 18 points help Bromley towards their promotion showdown with Wildernesse next week. Should Bromley win, sadly we will not meet Waterfront nor Rose's doorstep sandwiches (there must be a technical term - or perhaps not) for some time. Great ale too! |
