Report

Report:With the summer experiment barely over it was time to get down to the SERIOUS business of winter squash.

Canterbury arrived in good time which considering the distance travelled and the mammoth road improvement scheme that is Tunbridge Wells at the moment was an achievement in itself.

So with pre match slate provided Lucozade's Peanuts and who knows what else consumed it was time for the matches to start.

Colin v Duane, Colin hit one good shot Duane didn't hit any but still won, was the conclusion from the players but its good to see Colin getting back to fitness.

Jonny v James, Jonny was playing injured but that turned out to be some Bowel issues that after the first game disappeared, James seemed to make as many mistakes as Jonny but then Jonny ran out of invention and puff in the 5th. On a side note James played without doubt the shot of the season with a behind the back volley drop shot that rolled out the nick.

Jason v Neil, Didn't see a shot off this as I was having a 80min hack with Joe. Jason is getting back to fitness now and was to strong for Neil.

Dean v Joe. 80min of Joe trying to smash the ball onto my forehand with me trying to slow the ball down on Joe's backhand. I thought I'd lost 3-1 only to be told it was 2-1. 1 match ball in the 5th for me was not enough and Joe took his second match ball to win in the 4th no 5th.

Jolyon v Tom, Didn't see any of this either but Tom is on form having got to the final of the East of England, well done again ;) .Jolyon also said he didn't know Tom "could play that well" (I think that's a compliment).

Curry seemed to be enjoyed by all with some Pro squash to watch too.

A good close match guys
