Last winter's regular number one, Alan Briscoe, made his first summer appearance as late as week 12 to help Cobdown dent Blackheath's promotion hopes.

The race for a top two finish has certainly heated up after Old Elthamians came away from the leaders, Bromley C.C., with a narrow victory.

If Sydenham had had a better start to the season, things could have been so different. David Lloyd enjoyed their flourish of good results, but they've now lost three on the trot.
