Summer 2023
02 May 2023

The Summer 2023 fixtures have been released on League Master.

The league will commence on Tuesday 16th May. Remember all 1st division match must be played on a Tuesday.

As I mentioned before Club Captains voted to keep 4 players per team.

Scoring remains the same - PAR11 for Div 1-3 and PAR15 for Div 4-5.

There is no change to how the points are calculated per fixture, but this will be reviewed before the winter season.

As no one from Division 5 wanted to move up we will continue with 11 teams in that division. This will mean that there will not be a break between period 1 and 2 for Div 5 and the league will not be completed until 10th of October. The winter league will start straight away on 17th October.

***There will be no scope for Division 5 teams to re-arrange matches at the end of the season or end of 1st half. If matches need to be re-arranged they will have to be slotted into 2 in one week, so please avoid re-arranging matches***

For clubs with multiple teams, we’ve tried to avoid as many clashes as possible for multiple home fixtures for your teams. Can Club Captains please go into league master and amend the fixtures as soon as possible but at the latest by Friday 5th May. This allows clubs to book courts and away teams to know what day their first fixture is taking place on.

Can Club Captains please ensure the correct contact information is on each individual team page for the captain of each team. Until that has been corrected populated they will not receive emails from me, so please forward this onto to any captains that don’t have their details on league master yet.

Nominations for period 1 are now open.

Remember, the nomination rules, all rules are available with the link on league master to refresh yourself. I will summarise some of the nomination rules here:

  • Each team must have a minimum of 4 players nominated in each team.
  • A player will only be eligible to play for their nominated team or higher
  • A minimum of 3 players per team must have played at least 1 match in a Kent League in the previous 2 seasons (Winter 22/23 and Summer 2022).
  • It’s the club nomination order on the right hand side that will control the playing order in a match.
  • A player can play up 2 times to a higher team (not a lower team), but on the 3rd time will be tied to the higher team. If they have played for a number of higher teams they will be tied to the lower of the higher teams until they have then played 3 times for the next higher team.
  • No players can be nominated for 2 different clubs.

If anyone has any queries about nominations just get in touch with me. I will assist.

Nominations will close at 1930 on Tuesday 16th May. Please ensure your nominations are completed and meet all the rules before then.

I’m aware of the England Squash changes, but for the summer season nothing changes with regards to ES squash membership and all players wishing to be nominated will need a valid ES number, which can be through their club or an individual membership.

In the event that a team has 2 teams in the same division, once a player has played once for one team he/she is then tied to that team for the whole season and cannot play for the other team in the same division (this will be updated before the start of the season on the rules page).

Please remember to confirm the fixtures with the tick box.

All the best,

Baz
