| Report: | Nice end to the season for Dulwich. Sydenham were only able to field 4 players, however the match was still a nail biter. Ed and Paul started proceedings at 3 and appeared to be in a "I can hit the ball harder then you" contest. Paul's placement and Ed's poor execution was the difference between the two and Paul ran out an easy 3-0 winner.
J-M and Richard played at 1 and from all accounts it was a good game. (I was in the kitchen cooking,again)Richard continued the hoodoo he has over J-M,scoring a 3-1 victory.
Steve "Mr Consistant" Hall took on Alan at 4. These were two big me who hit the ball very hard. Fortunately for Dulwich our big man was a little bit more mobile and was able to pick up the win.
With the match all square at 2-2 the result hinged on the game between Jack and Alex at 2. Youth v experience. This one went right down to the wire, seesawing back and forth. Some great squash was played by both but Jack managed to fight his way back into the game from 2-1 down and 8-6 down in the 4th, to take the game to a 5th set. Here Jack got his 2nd wind and jumped out to a 6-0 lead. After that he was able to keep his head and took the set 9-1 thus enabling us to take the game 3-2 and have bragging rights over dinner.
Now for a rest and holiday. |
