Report: | Gerald his usual efficient self against a sporadically inventive Mark. We all hope the OW vet will hang up his boots soon, to make way for the youngbloods.
Tom was consistent against Dave - 3 points in each game, in spite of his work and wedding preparations.
Chris should have done better against a fit but erratic Tom - he just forgot to use his vast experience on every point.
Tim played above himself and didn't need to whack his opponent's coccyx with the ball or throw him against a slippery wall. The shoulder injury was the final nail in Nick's battered body (apparently).
John entertained the ravenous crowd (all waiting for an early supper) for an unnecessarily long time, when all the other matches had finished. He was unlucky to lose the first, but made up for it with a couple of grinding games. The heavy humidity, slipping balls and cruel-but-fair marking eventually took their toll though, and the youthful Gary sealed the deal near closing time. |
