Report

Report:As the curtain came down for this years summer league Bromley CC 3 finished off their impressive 2nd period form with a 4-1 win.
The visitors and victims were a very thin squad of only 4 players (and Neil really is thin!).

1st up Dan Sweeney took on Keith Pier who played well up the order to help out the team. Dan simply had too much for the plucky Keith and was playing some really high quality shots. A couple of Ronaldinho no look shots being the highlights of the game.
Unlucky Keith, you gave it your all but Dan too strong.

Meanwhile on the other court saw a battle of the rakes as slender gents Sam Warnett and Neil Badger slugged it out and what a battle it was !

Neil dominated the 1st game playing some truly exquisite shots. On one occasion hitting a back hand volley nick whilst seemingly heading for the showers to Sam's disbelief "Was it good?" It was bloody brilliant Sam.

Neil took a 2-0 lead but looked to be tiring. Sam took advantage of this and decided to start dropping some shots instead of hitting straight back to Neil at the back of the court.

Sam took complete control of the last 2 games 9-1 and 9-2 and wrapped up the 5 game match.

Next up on court was the number 1's Scott vs Luke. Luke was in complete control from the get go and won the 1st 2 games as convincingly as possible 9-0, 9-0. However Scott caught his 20th wind and started to play some nice squash in the 3rd and took the game 9-6.
The 4th game saw both players exchanging some ferocious shots with marker Paul Roberts struggling to keep his eye on the ball !
It was neck and neck until a brutal rally ended Scott's chances and he had no more winds to catch. Luke a very deserved winner.

Lastly we had Kevin Gimenez vs Vic Hulland. Kevin made short work of this battle of the giants and was a convincing winner 3-0. Vic as always dangerous on the left hand, the very reason Kev kept it all up the right hand wall.

A pleasure hosting a good bunch of blokes from Bexley.

We wish Gareth well in recovery from a transgend.... I mean knee operation. Get well soon G.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Paul Roberts...... flawless !
