Report

Report:On a typical Wimbledon July day (wet and miserable) PL plays host to two Bromley CC teams. PL 4 sponsored by Pro Heating and Plumbing

Pro 3 Nolan v Ross
Nolan not firing on all cylinders playing a good game but did not have enough fire power to worry Ross. Ross Managing to clinch the match 3-1.

Pro 1 Rhys v Keeley
Rhys finding it difficult coping with Keeley’s length down the backhand and boasts into the forehand corner. It took two games for Rhys to get into his stride by then Keeley was well into hers, match went to Bromley 3-1.

Pro 3 Mike v Stewart
Didn't see much of this match. Mike taking the first saving a couple of game ball in process. The game got a bit physical, Stewart blow to the head. Another match going to Bromley.

Pro 2 Nick v Scott
I think that Nick would rather forget this one, by the time he got going the match was gone.
It was left to Luke to save us from total annihilation.

Pro 5 Luke v Sam
Well to say this was a marathon would be an understatement. Everyone was chomping at the bit for their dinner. Luke and Sam went on, and on, and on. The first two games were fairly regular affairs, honors even. The next two games saw the score go one way then the other with some good retrieving and some unorthodox shots thrown in, now 2-2. Now very hungry, some of the PL team resorted to getting Hula-Hoops. We offered one to Keeley; the packet was never seen again. I'm sure the guys on court had bet to see how long they could string this one out for. In the 5th Luke was 4-8 down, we thought it was all over, oh no it wasn't. Luke with a run of 4 points got to the tie-break, yes you guessed it, set-two. Going to the wire Luke clinched it 10-9.
Dinner was then served.
