Andy v Ross on first with it being very apparent that andy would have to do something a bit special to achieve any sort of decent result, well, special was on holiday! It was very apparent that Ross was lighting fast to the front which effective took 50% of Andy's game away, maybe 70% ? 1-0 to Ross. With a bit of advice from Rich a hard, deep and fast approach was needed, this was sort of effective but Ross was far too good, especially at no.4 or 5 in the squad!
Matt on with Ant, Ant starting strong, promising a bit of a battle. Unfortunately this was not to be, Matt ran off the lunch time food and beer, sorry Ant, Matt 1-0 up then went on to take control of the match to win 3-0. Much to Ants team mates amusement Matt said he had to be up early for a 7am spin class lol, to be fair Ant did not have his normal match fitness.
Ian and Paul on the other court but I was marking on the other, looked a tight game but Ian's mojo seems to missing at the moment. 3-1 to Paul.
Next was Kevin playing up from the 4ths against Dean, this was alway going to be a tall order but Kev rose to the challenge. The first was a bit shaky, 1-0 to Dean, but when Kev settled down the game wasn't that easy as the score might suggest, once Kev was getting a better length and shot selection he was putting Dean under a bit of pressure but Dean was a bit too powerful and took the match 3-0.
Last was Rich v Floyd aka Mr Motivator :-)
Rich had a good start taking the first but Floyd had different ideas and took the second to level the match. Rich seemed to be taking control in the 3rd with Floyd making a few more mistakes. Rich made a good start in the 4th only to pull a hamstring and retired injured. I favoured Rich to take the match prior to the injury however there is no option for this on the score sheet so the fairest score went down. Hope thats ok Dean.
