Report

Report: Yesterday BCC welcomed tunbridge Wells sc4 to the lane. BCC were eager to bounce back from a defeat last week. The night brought 2 major shocks. First was before the march even started when Stuart “9:15ish” Gotts actually turned up before the match started.

First up was Sweeny vs Thomas.
Dan prob the strongest No4 in the league was matched against a future talent. Dan was hitting well as usual and young Thomas was chasing everything down. It was dans power and experience that won the match. 3-0. 1-0 BCC

Next up was on time Gotts vs Tom.
After a good result last night Stu was on form. After many hand in handouts at 0-0 Stu started to stamp his authority. Toms tactics were good keeping the ball on one side and trying to volley short. Unfortunately he was up against a quick experienced player in Stu who kept Tom behind him and then played quality short shots. 3-0. 2-0 BCC

Keeley vs Richard Up next on court 2
Keeley just back from illness and eager to get back to form. Playing her normal aggressive game keels took a 2-0 lead taking the 2nd 9-0 but Richard Wasn’t going to just roll over and give up and chased every ball down and took the 3rd. Keels adjusted her game and pushed Richard Deep before pushing forward, taking the 4th
3-1 3-0 BCC

Myself vs Bekki.
This one was billed as beauty vs the beast and on this occasion the beast had the upper hand thanks to some very lucky nicks. Bekki didn’t stop running and at one point nearly done full splits. Nice game to play in. 3-0, 4-0 BCC

Steve vs Jem
Another one of Tunbridge Wells up and coming juniors. Steve’s admission at dinner was that he lost the knock up and Jem agreed. I think a new rule could be introduced, half a point for the best warm up.
Steve seemed determined to get this one over as he knew that his opponents legs had a bit more running in them. Steve played some quality hard drives and great boasts. Little Jem (who is actually taller than Steve) kept retrieving and playing some nice winners but Steve had the experience and took the match 3-0.

The next big shock of the night was hearing that our own Dennis Bergkamp (Keeley) would travel away to wells next week. We wait to see if this actually happens or will she pull another dodgy excuse out of her big bag
