Report

Report: BCC3 welcomed old wilstonians to the Lane. A tough night as most of the home support were out celebrating a members.birthday. It had the atmosphere of a cold night in stoke.

Danny vs dave.
Dan has been in a good vain of form of late and on Wednesday it continued. Dave came out firing but it didn’t take dan long to find his targets and push dave deep before pushing him forward. Dave was very much in a hurry to get away made some unforced errors and dan closed the match out 3-0.

Steve vs Luke. The experienced steve had been under the weather and it looked like the youth and speed of Luke could well be his undoing. Steve came out of the blocks the fastest and took a commanding 2-0 lead. Then it looked like the wheels may have come off and Luke took the 3rd 9-2. Steve dug deep and put everything into the forth and took it 9-7 a must win game.

Keeley vs Gerald.
I didn’t see this game but was told that Keeley had her battle head on hitting hard tight length and playing her trademark attacking boast. She took the 1st 9-6. The 2nd was much of the same good aggressive squash closing the game 9-4. Keels pressure seemed relentless flying to a 8-2 lead and getting match ball. But Gerald wasn’t to give up. He dug deep and battled back to 8-8. Just when it looked as if Gerald was going to get one game back Keeley hit a couple of nice winners closing the match out.

Scott vs Dave.
An under strength team had forced dave back from injury a week earlier than he’d liked. I too had a slight niggle but had still been managing to get some games in. I could sense that dave was weary of his leg so tried to move him about as much as possible. It worked I took a 2-0 lead. Dave threw a bit of caution to the wind and was flying about the court in the 4th. It caught me off guard and before I knew it I was 7-1 down. I tried to come back getting to 7-7 but dave got the next two points. In the 4th I decided to take the aggressive approach. Hitting harder and lower. This time I caught dave out taking the 4th.

Stu vs Nick.
The best match of the night. Saw Stu and nick try and break the court. Nick hitting hard, Stuart responding then nick nearly taking the skin off the ball. Just a few less unforced errors saw Stu take the 1st. The 2nd continued the same way with both players getting the ball super hot. Stu took the 2nd 9-2. The third saw nick hit better length and make fewer errors. Hitting quality forehand cross courts won the 3rd 9-6. The forth game saw Stu up his game and hit 3 of the most scandalous nicks 2 rolling dead. Nick tried to attack but Stu held on to take the 4th 9-5

A great night. See you guys on the return.
