| Report: | It was a very warm muggy sweaty night at Bromley for the visit of Bexley 4.
1st up to sweat it out was Giles vs Garth.
The 1st game was a good battle as Garth was giving as good as he was getting.
Giles managed to get the all important 1st game however 9-5.
With a lot of energy exerted Garth slowed down and Giles had too much movement and speed and closed out the match with 2 more games 9-3 then 9-0. 1-0 Bromley.
Sam vs Marc next and this game had a similar feel to it with a very tight 1st game but this time the Bexley boy winning the 1st game 10-8.
Sam though came out for the 2nd game like a man who had been outside swearing at himself.
He started to hit better lengths and widths and it was 1 way traffic for the next 3 games. Sam taking them all 9-3, 9-1, 9-2. 2-0 Bromley.
Ross vs Pat next and this was the only long match of the night with a 3-2 thriller.
Ross won the 1st 10-9 in another close 1st game.
Pat though was finishing off Ross's loose mid court shots with some real class and had that killer touch and he took the next 2 games 4-9, 5-9.
Ross fought back though with some class of his own and gave Pat a walloping 9-0 to level that game up.
So it was 2-2 and locked in at 2-2 on points it could have gone either way.
Ross though is nicknamed the Postman for a reason. HE ALWAYS DELIVERS, and he brought the team a special delivery of a 9-4 win signed for by R.BEAUMONT. 3-2 to Ross and 3-0 to Bromley guaranteeing the match.
Up on court 3 was Dan Swchweeeeeeny vs Mehmet Yusuf.
Another close 1st game in this match up but Dan took it 9-6.
Mehmet was not going to give up and was scurrying around the court retrieving most of Dan's shots but on the vital ones in the 2nd he just couldn't get them back. 10-8 Dan.
The 3rd game saw some trademark Sweeney winners and some outrageously good shots from the big man. The big man is really getting fitter as the weeks go on and he managed to see out the game 9-7 with Mehmet putting up a valiant effort. 3-0 Schween, 4-0 Bromley.
Going for the 5-0 whitewash was Stew Gotts who was recently back from 3 weeks in France where he claimed to have drunk a lorry load of Stella Artois !
Tobyn Hulance probably wasn't the best player for Stew to be easing himself back in to squash.
Probably one of the quickest matches of squash I have ever marked.
In the blink of an eye it went 9-1, 9-1, 9-1 to Tobyn and some pride restored for Bexley and more time at the bar for Stew to top up his blood as the stella levels had dropped worryingly low for him.
Big thanks to Stew for playing in all seriousness. He was filling in for our normal number 1 Tony Davies who is currently sunning himself in Turkey whilst wearing his trademark pink speedo's and his white socks with sandals. Class personified.
