| Report: | Actually half of a double header played on Wednesday at BCC. Shil, even though stale after several weeks off, showed no loss of touch and Sam was struggling from the start. Darius had just too much energy for Ross who, it must be said, played superior shots. However, as he tired a lot also went down. Paul wouldn't let Tim get into his stride and wrong-footed him with some tactical play. The decider was between Garth and Kevin. Garth seemed out of sorts but this wasn't helped by Kev's surprising speed and deft drop shots. It seemed a lost cause for Garth until he started hitting better length and reducing unforced errors, eventually taking the 5th game. Brian showed promise by getting the first game, but Giles showed superior use of the court and made Brian work for every point. After a hard 3rd game the result was inevitable. So, BLTC just snatched victory and maybe saved relegation. A nice breakfast to finish the evening too. |
