Report

Report: A chilly night for this match up.

This may explain the very cold start from yours truly up against young Luke. After playing him a month or so ago and getting a 3-0 win I turned up expecting a walk in the park.... boy was I wrong.

Luke has been getting lessons from a certain Mr T Jeal and he's improved massively. I took a pasting 9-5 then 9-1 to go 2 down. Watching was club legend Ali Mckmeckan and he had words with me. I managed to play a lot better and won the next.
Luke seemed to have a groin injury in the 4th and I took it 9-0.

In the decider though his groin seemed to magically fix and I found myself 3-0 down.
Luckily for me I won the next 9 points to take the decider.
Well played Luke.

Ross the postman delivered a win for Bromley yet again beating Gurkan 3-0. I didnt see any of this but a nicely played match by all accounts.

Again I didnt see any of Giles vs Zach but another 3-0 win for Bromley. Zach I know has bags of potential so will only get better.

Paul Roberts vs Meir Mizrahi in the battle of the vetrans. This was a close encounter..... so close in fact that that Paul got Meir's back swing right in the moosh !

1st game was a comfortable win for Paul but Meir fought back and too the next 2 to a tie break but Paul winning both of them to claim his 3-0 win.

4-0 to Bromley and just the number 1's left to play.

This week Sam Warnett stepping in to the shoes of Bromley's own Darren Anderton Tony Davies who is injured again :-(

Facing Sam was Paul Wainwright who has had some very good victories this winter season.

The 1st game saw Paul hitting hard and fast good lengths and his accuracy was causing problems for Sam who did his usual retrieving but Paul taking the 1st.

Sam though was fighting hard and taking some nice backhand volley's early and in the 2nd he managed to take the game in the tie break,

Another fast paced game with loads of lengthy rallies with this time Paul taking the game.

Sam then took the next however his tourettes was starting to seep out.

The 5th and final game of the night saw another close game but this time Sam's tourettes had hit full sweary levels and the screaming became ear drum breakable.

Paul did manage to see out the game and Sam unfortunately broke his 3rd or 4th racket of the season. He's keeping Technifibre in business !!

No shame though in losing to Paul who is a quality player and Sam just proving how much better he is becoming.

A good night of squash, thanks for the game Bexley.
