Report

Report: Week 2 of the winter season and boy was it cold !

1st up trying to warm themselves up was Ross and Ed. I only saw a few points of this but the postman Ross was on form to deliver his usual 3 points for the team winning comfortably 3-0 against Ed.

The number 1 seeds up 1st on cold court number 3 and we saw young 14 year old Tom from Wells vs the much older Danny Williams.
The amount of hair on show was totally dominated by the youngster Tom who also dominated the 1st game with some top class squash. 9-1 to the 14 year old.

Danny though started delaying his shots and started making Tom work extra hard to read Danny's shots. It paid off massively. 9-1 Danny.

The 3rd and 4th game contained some lovely rallies and Tom at 14 (did I mention that already) did himself proud but lost out 9-5 and 9-7. Danny getting he's 1st win for his new team. Well played both. Cant believe Tom is only 14 !!!!!

Up next was Sam vs Paul and again I saw nothing of this as I was warming up on court for my game.

I asked Paul for a description for the match after and he said "I started off crap, got a bit better, got crap again then got even more crap. Got my arse kicked" Well ill take that as the report...3-1 to Sam and 3-0 to Bromley - win secured.

So on to my match ...... if you ever feel depressed come down to Bromley and watch one of my matches of late.
A cancelled gym membership and a non return to slimming world has meant for a slower more rotund me and my squash definitely is suffering. A drop shot that was landing more on the service line the highlight of the match.

Steve hadn't played for a while and after our 4th I thought we were gonna have to break open the defibrillator.

I managed to take the 5th to win this scrappy match but we had fun anyway :-)

Last up was Giles and Thomas. Both moving around the court nicely from what I saw of the last few points but Giles had too much accuracy and finesse for Tom and won this match 3-0 giving Bromley the 5-0 win.

Nice seeing the Wells lot, a good bunch. Was a shame captain Becky wasn't there to show off her trademark splits lunge :-)

See you at the return leg all.
