| Away Report: | 'Match (not the Sue Gray) Report -
In his first team match Neill kicked off against a seasoned Marcus who wrong-footed him with some nice boasts and drops. However, Neill’s speed and powerful drives kept him in the match, especially when he won the 3rd game after being 0-2 down. Unfortunately for Neill, Marcus found a string of hard, angled serves that worked well and helped give him the match, 3-1. Sammy meanwhile was having a very close tussle with young Joel in a long, high quality match that went all the way. With their long rallies both were tiring and had short lapses of concentration by the 5th game but Joel kept it together sufficiently to take the match, 3-2. Entertainment of a different sort courtesy of Ash and Richard who had played several times before, and it showed - both remarkably fit and making generous use of the court with a wide range of shots, they played with humour to match their stamina while reaching what seemed certain winners. Ash took the first 2 games, lost the third in Richard’s most purple patch, then came back firmly to take the 4th and the match, 3-1. Finally, Anthony took on Hugo but could’t find a consistent length nor cope with Hugo’s favourite shot, the volley drop. 3-0 to Hugo. A rare win for BLTSC2.
