| Report: | New Year new start, sadly not for Wildernesse 2 who registered yet another 2-3 defeat, this time to a fired up Bromey CC team! The writing was on the wall in the first match when Phil 'this time it's personal' Groves took apart turkey-laden Gareth Willis at 3, closely followed by another stuffing (like the turkey link!)for Andrew Lindsay by Graham Lilley at 5. Then the tables started to turn as Ian Yates completely mugged Graham Edwards at 2 recovering from a 2-0 deficit (and looking dead and buried) to scrape home 3-2. The brief recovery then stuttered as Nick Curson was squeezed out 10-9 in the 5th by Steve 'I need a bit of conflict to get going' Pusey. Although the result was settled this didn't stop the number 1's putting on a great show and Harvey Branton exacted revenge for a first half defeat, beating Alistair McMechen 3-1.
The evening finished off nicely with a visit to the new pub and enough food to completely ruin the New Year diets. Back to the treadmill! |
