Report

Report:Well, what can I say. It had to end sometime but I wasn't expecting Bromley to end our winning streak. Guess we should take it as a complement that they fielded such a strong team.

1st Kendall v McMeckan Jnr at No1
These two put on a great game of squash worthy of the No1 slot. These two were clearly a cut above the rest of us and it showed. Great shots and gets. McMecken Jnr put Kendall under tremendous pressure from the beginning and was relentless. Matt tried his best but eventually wilted under the onslaught, going down 3-0.

2nd Burgess v McMecken Snr
Youth v experience. Young Jack is maturing into a very good player as well as developing physically. He was taking the ball early and hitting it very hard. Try as he might, McMecken had no real answer to this. Now and again McMecken Snr produced a shot or rally which put Jack in his place but it was too little and infrequent to stop the inevitable defeat. 3-0 to Jack.

3rd Turner v Groves.
Last time these two meet it was a 3-0 trashing to Phil. These time however, he came up against a confident Jim who was playing very well. Phil started very well and jumped out to a quick lead in the 1st game. Jim came back and had a shot at nicking it but Phil withstood the pressure and closed out the game. It was a similar story in the 2nd and 3rd games. On both occasions Jim came back from 7pts down to level and then take the games 10/8.
